Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also performs music. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and the first female to receive it. In addition to receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the first Indian-born musician to present at and perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil as well as his daughter. Born in London in 1982 and was a young girl who travelled to London in London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. Then she relocated into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a performer and recorder is impressive, despite her age. Since a while, she has been performing regularly with her father. In 1998, she debuted her first solo album Anourag. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Because she has performed on every major stage in across the globe, she's performance career has been extensive. The first time she performed on the sitar came at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka was a part of her father on his worldwide tour, gained an incredible amount of experience. As a teenager, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. She was the only female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musical ability as an outstanding musician from in the Asian Arts.
